Tim: As I said in my intro post, I'd like to join in on this if possible. I know I'm in the States (and new to the hobby), so if that presents a problem, just let me know.
Thanks!

Il do some ork nobs if you want, il get a box of 5 and paint them one by one (how many i do will depend entirely on time)
Is that alright or does something else need doing first?

This is shaping up nicely, thanks guys for your support. As for a deadline, I would like all painting and basing to be completed by the end of September to the middle of October 2007 so that gives us all plenty of time, but let us not be too complacent as what seems like plenty of time can soon become not enough without even realising it. Idealy if the whole army is finished and at my adedress by the end of October ready for auctioning then that would be fantastic.

I still need volunteers for the boyz Rahz is doing 5 so that leaves us at least 15 to make the army playable. On a side note the new Codex comes out next year so when it does I will buy that and then add that in with the army so that the buyer gets the rules and models in one go. I was thinking it might be cool to place each unit on its own display plinth with the Cities of Death theme, I think that might be a little too much to do but could be cool if possible.

Hinton--since we are practically next door neighbors, we should come up with a unit (maybe in conjunction with some others over at LCS's?). That way we can send them all in one go over to the UK. I don't know if you have shipped overseas before, but it can get a bit pricey.

Jabberwocky, that is a good idea mate. Racssirt that is very generous of you and if you could paint the whole sixteen that would be phenomenal but don't push yourself too hard. Aim for five and see how well you get on with that and then take it from there mate.

sod it! , I up my offer of 10 to a squad of 15 (inc nob) !!! I already have the minis, and will be able to start them mid january. Even to the best of my painting ability this is still a very realistic and do-able ammount.
If Ghazgull is in the army then I shall paint these up as Goff clan to tie in with him.
@ racssirt- do you want to paint yours up as slugga (close combat) or shoota boyz? If you could let me know which you prefer, I will do the other for a bit of variety.
My son has Cornelia De Lange Syndrome, and I know that the CDLS foundation receives support from children in need, so I am more that happy to help and would like to thank you all for this on a very personal level.

Whats the time scale on this? I could do a unit of say 10 - 15 boys for you in reasonable quick time depending how good you want them. Are we buying the minis ourselves or are you sending them.
Im in OZ so I dont mind paying postage if you are sending them. Also whats the theme etc or are we still waiting for that to be decided?

They dont need to be finished until Sept - mid October so theres loads of time to get some great paintjobs done! I think everyone is just buying thier own, i went and bought a box of Nobz today and i no OrkyDave already has his, not sure about everybody else though. A full unit would be great from what i hear, OrkyDave is painted a unit, and somebody else is doing a few Boys/z so the 2 unit minimum would be filled allowing diferent units to then be painted up. Not sure about the theme or anything, if someone could clear that up that would be great.

Sign me up for a blister of orks. I can do either a blister of heavy weapons (1x big shoota, 1x rocket launcha) or a blister of burna boys (2x burnas). Either will help fill out the compulsory troop choices, so I'll do whichever would be better for the army composition.

If someone could tell me what to paint, what colors, etc., I'd be happy to get started on this. As I've said, I'm new to the hobby, so I have no idea what's going on. I just put paint to pewter.

I feel I have to say something based on my past experience with previous attempts at organizing a charity project.
Many people make very enthusiastic pledges early in the day and then find that they cannot commit to them (for whatever reasons), so I suggest that you offer only what you can genuinely expect to get finished. And if you find you can do more than your minimum pledge, then great! Its better to start off small and add to it, than to think large and then have to cut back.
And Tim, expect a few people to drop out along the way. Its unfortunate, but it will happen.
I have purchased the Kommando figure and have started work on the display plinth too. I will definitely get them both finished by the end of January - even earlier if possible. I'll post WIP photos as soon as there is something worth looking at.

Thanks Dagorlad, yes I know that people are genuinely enthusiastic so that is why I emphasised about doing the minimum and taking it from there. Hopefully our supporters will complete the models they have pledged but to be honest the fact that people are willing to do it at all is very gratifying. It is also why I thought a nice long time scale would be a good idea it gives us plenty of time with a definate target to aim for. I am doing 5 commandos plus maybe the big mech now that we have a pledge of the warbikes. I suggest that we open another thread for project WIPs, what do you guys think?

Well i had an hour between college and work today so i managed to get the skin on this fella done: The head/face has one more highlight than the other skin to make it more of a focal point, BUT im not sure if i should go more into the yellows on the lips and top spots for the highlighting or does this look fine? (And remember this is about 7 times it normal size so the tiny flaws are showing which arn't ,well i can't see them anyway, arnt visable to the average eye!) *EDIT* ARGH!! Mouldline on the gun!!!
