I just finished reading this and it was the best book i have read in a very long time, it tells the first part of the story to the horus heresy, and tells of horus's years as a loyal, and the emperor's favourite primarch, it also follows the story of one of his captains of the lunar wolves named Loken. It focuses on horus as the emperors warmaster during the great crusade and at this point horus has not turned to chaos and nothing is mentioned about it apart from a rather small tantalising part in one of the early chapters that involves a marine and not horus. Lots of great battle action and great insights into the private life of an astartes and a primarch, meeting new and varied races, if you like 40k then i would reccomend this book to anybody..... right of to town tomorrow to get the second book
