This for me is very exciting, due for release early next year is the next supplement for Lotr the Ruin of Arnor. GW have put up some tantalising sneak peak pics and this promises to be possibly the best supplement yet. At last we will see what GW do with Dragons for Lotr. I hope for one they don't mess them up.

I wanna see a dragon! But, if GW screw it up, I will... errm... I dunno what I'll do but I'll do something to make them regret making a crappy dragon sculpt!

I'm not honestly that amazed by this stuff. It does look good in comparison with the last suppliment but I think the earliest LOTR stuff up to shadow and flame and Scouring of the Shire will forever be GW's best attempt at LOTR, back when they were more invested in the game and its models. Some of the best GW sculpters worked on earlier ranges but since then many of GW's best have left to other companys and presumably they have not put their best on these more recent figures. Oh well. Some of these look good but nothing really exceptional.

I really hope that they make Dúnedain as a army. I have always wanted to have a Dúnedain or northern ranger army. ( I remember having a heated discussion with Tim about this on another forum a long time ago ). I agree with mminiatures, they earliest LOTR minis were the best. The FOTR fellowship were one of the first LOTR models GW released, and I think the models in the FOTR fellowship is the best LOTR models GW have produced.

Ahh so it was you eh, you may get your wish mate the events leading up to the ruin of Arnor would have seen the men of the Northern knigdom in more numerous numbers unlike your original wish to field a ranger army in the third age at the time of the War of the Ring.

I have always been amazed by the Dùnedain. They live in the wild hunting the evil creatures of the north, yet they are still so noble and proud.
I remember our discussion, I tried to find any reason why the rangers of the north would gather an army, and you kept throwing them away ;D Of course I should have thought of the time before the war of the ring ;D
